The Mercedes Benz Unimog provides mainly 2 to 3 person, 7.49 tonne vehicles as base expedition vehicles offering extreme off-road performance but only 3.7m long living cabins - many travellers will not require such 4x4 abilities, and will prefer a longer cabin. The 6x6 Unimog allows for a longer cabin, but is very rare and very expensive. Unimogs offering high gross weight are also available, although still with the 3.7m living cabin limitation. DOKA and L37 configurations allow for 'family' setups, especially when the extended space in the front driving cabin is also used for 'living'
